Johnny Moore

Johnny H. Moore is the Lead Pastor of Family Worship Center, a steady growing congregation in Cairo, Georgia.  He is also known as a motivator, encourager and equipper of pastors and leaders.  He is the founder of HomeGrown Pastor, a leadership development company that develops resources and materials for Rural Pastors and Churches, and the author of three books, “The Pastor’s Corner Collection”, volume one, and volume two, and “Aimin’ High”.

 

Johnny is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee and received a Master of Arts degree in Ministry Leadership from the Church of God Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN. He is a former Executive Board Member of The Grady County Chamber of Commerce and also serves locally as the Chaplain for Grady County Sheriff’s Office and Cairo Fire Department and Cairo Police Department. 

Johnny and his wife, Dianne, returned to Johnny’s hometown of Cairo, Georgia in July of 1994 to begin Family Worship Center. The Church started with 14 people in their first service and has grown to a membership of over 1000, with an average Sunday morning attendance of 600. Pastor Johnny truly loves his hometown and the people of Cairo, GA. He has committed the past 30 years to making a difference in people’s lives in all walks of life. Over the past 15 years, under the leadership of Pastor Johnny Moore, Family Worship Center has applied for and received over $3,000,000.00 in grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and has built a 31 unit Senior Adult housing complex called “The Haven”. In March of 2011, Family Worship Center moved into their new 37,000 square foot Worship facility located on 32 acres just inside the city limits of Cairo, Georgia.

God has called Pastor Johnny Moore to Rural America and he is committed to fulfilling this call. He has spoken at State Camp Meetings, Prayer Conferences, and Pastor’s Training Conferences in Virginia, Texas, Maryland, Arkansas, North Carolina, Mississippi, North Georgia, Florida and Alabama. He hosts and conducts an annual “HomeGrown Church” Conference in Cairo, Georgia that draws hundreds of attendees every year. He has also developed numerous resources and materials designed specifically for Pastor’s in Rural Communities. His latest resource, HomeGrown Pastor, is a website for Rural Pastors.

Johnny and his wife, Dianne, have three grown children: Joshua, and his wife Hannah, Jonathan, and his wife Ashley, and Anna Jordan Hester, and her husband John Thomas Hester. He is also now a proud Grandaddy to four grandchildren, Jude, Abigail, Luke and Emily.
